The 35th edition of the SIAR International Congress on Automotive and Transportation Engineering is at the same time the 5th AMMA International Congress (Automotive Mobility, Management and Automation) organized by SIAR and hosted by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
The aim of the Congress is to provide opportunities for the participants to:
- gain their insights into the cutting edge automotive industry and ideas for future developments;
- update their skills and knowledge by attending focused technical sessions;
- network with potential new partners, clients and suppliers;
- view the latest technology, products and services in the technical exhibition.

With a history of over 100 years, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is one of the largest universities in Romania. Thanks to Automotive Engineering and Transportation Department and to the multidisciplinary approach, the automotive related research and development in the university is at the highest level. Congress attendees will have the chance to benefit from scientific exchange during either the formal activities or the informal meetings with colleagues from different backgrounds, but will also have a chance to relax thanks to the opportunities provided by the multiple cultural events and by the superb Cluj surroundings and traditions.Cluj-Napoca, capital of the historical region Transylvania, is a town with a millennial cultural tradition and world-wide recognized hospitality and openness to ideas and people, nowadays also a Silicon Valley of S-E Europe. The focus on automotive is growing continuously and the city is now home to Bosch, Porsche Engineering, Magneti Marelli just to name a few of the important names in automotive world present in our town. Due to the perfect blend of tradition, history, art, education and innovation, Cluj-Napoca is considered to have the best quality of life and higher education among the major cities of Romania. Moreover, Cluj-Napoca is a crucial node of the Romanian transport network, which makes it easy and cheap to reach Cluj-Napoca, especially through the international airport.
The congress will be accompanied by many events for the participants: exhibition of products specific to the automotive industry, car components and transports, workshops, technical visits, the general meeting of SIAR, the final stage of the international contest for the students on automotive engineering “Professor Eng. Constantin GHIULAI” with the two sections: „Automotive Dynamics” – the 11th edition and „Automotive CAD – CATIA V5” – the 8th edition, the students awards supported by AVL and AKA.
