The 36th edition of the SIAR International Congress on Automotive and Transportation Engineering is at the same time the 12th CAR International Congress organized by SIAR and hosted by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest – Pitești University Center.
The aim of the Congress is to provide opportunities for the participants to:
- gain their insights into the cutting edge automotive industry and ideas for future developments;
- update their skills and knowledge by attending focused technical sessions;
- network with potential new partners, clients and suppliers;
- view the latest technology, products and services in the technical exhibition.

The CAR Conference/Congress is a traditional scientific event initiated by University of Pitesti in 1978. Starting with its 5th edition organized in 1992, CAR International Conference became one of the SIAR Conferences. CAR Congress reaching its 12th edition this year, is part of the SIAR’s series of similar annual scientific events held successively by various universities in Romania with interests in Automotive Engineering (Transilvania University of Brasov – CONAT Congress, National University of Science and Technology “Politehnica”, Bucharest University Center – ESFA Congress, National University of Science and Technology “Politehnica”, Pitesti University Center – CAR Congress, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca – AMMA Congress, University of Craiova – SMAT Congress, Polytechnic University of Timisoara – MVT Congress, Moldova Technical University of Chisinau – AITS Congress).
Thus, CAR2026 is actually the 36th edition of SIAR International Congress.
The 2026 edition of CAR International Congress is focused on MOBILITY ENGINEERING AND SUSTAINABILITY.
This edition is endorsed by FISITA and SIA!
The congress will be accompanied by many events for the participants: exhibition of products specific to the automotive industry, car components and transports, workshops, technical visits, the general meeting of SIAR, the final stage of the international contest for the students on automotive engineering “Professor Eng. Constantin GHIULAI” with the two sections: „Automotive Dynamics” – the 12th edition and „Automotive CAD” – the 9th edition, the students awards supported by AVL and AKA Automotiv.
